Does the tie you wear say something about you?
I’ve long believed that you can draw conclusions about a person by what they wear. Whether it’s shoes, style of shirt, or in this case ties. I think that the tie you choose says a lot about you. This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise since ones outer appearance is all we have to go by when we initially meet someone.
Understand that many of the conclusions drawn may very well be wrong but knowing this means there is an opportunity to control the vibe and energy that you give off.
Here are a few things that your ties may be saying about you.
Darker colors tend to give off a more serious tone. Picking the wrong color can make you seem unapproachable. If you’re in a great mood, you want to convey that. When picking out a tie, ask yourself which color reflects your current mood. Being one with your tie sounds silly but you’d be surprised at just how much it helps.
Are you someone who has a very lively personality? If so, the range of ties you can select from for any given event might be wider than someone who doesn’t have one. For those of us (myself included) who don’t have a larger than life personality, the tie you choose can do a lot to paint you in a more spirited light.
You want a tie to compliment you and whatever energy you want to give off.
You’re probably wondering what a tie has to do with your confidence level. Well, there are two way to look at confidence as it relates to ties. How you view yourself and also how others view you.
Pick a tie that you feel comfortable in. Don’t be afraid to try different looks. Being comfortable is a large part of being confident.
Naturally if you are actually confident then others will sense this. However, it’s important to note that confidence level is one area where taking chances pays off. Many people wear only solid colors or safe patterns because they are safe. Stepping outside of the box or even better, realizing there is no box will have to sporting a glow that Bruce Leroy will be proud of.
